Heroic Menacing Avenger

NEW AVENGER POWERS

The following powers were designed with the menacing avenger in mind, but any avenger may learn them.

LEVEL 2 UTILITY PRAYER

Whispered Warning - Avenger Utility 2
You're next.
Daily * Divine, Fear
Free Action - Personal
Trigger: You hit an enemy with a melee attack.
Target: The enemy you hit
Effect: The target takes a -4 penalty to defenses against your attacks until the end of your next turn.

LEVEL 3 ENCOUNTER PRAYER

Horrid Strike - Avenger Attack 3
You mangle your foe's body, causing its allies to look away in disgust.
Encounter * Divine, Weapon
Standard Action - Melee weapon
Primary Target: One creature
Primary Attack: Wisdom vs. AC
Hit: 1[W] + Wisdom modifier damage.  Make a secondary attack.
Secondary Attack (Divine, Fear, Implement, Psychic)
- Secondary Target: Each enemy within 2 squares of the primary target
- Attack: Wisdom vs. Will
- Hit: Wisdom modifier psychic damage.
- Censure of Terror: The secondary target also takes a -2 penalty to attack rolls until the end of your next turn.

LEVEL 5 DAILY PRAYER

Sow Disloyalty - Avenger Attack 5
You convince a rebellious enemy that its allies will turn on it if it doesn't act now.
Daily * Charm, Divine, Implement, Psychic
Standard Action - Close burst 1
Target: Your oath of enmity target
Attack: Wisdom vs. Will
Hit: 2d6 + Wisdom modifier psychic damage, and the target makes a basic attack as a free action against a creature of your choice.  This attack does not provoke opportunity attacks.
Miss: Half damage, and you gain a +2 bonus to your next attack roll against the target before the end of your next turn.

LEVEL 6 UTILITY PRAYER

Fool's Mistake - Avenger Utility 6
You miss your target, but the enemy is so worried that your fumble is actually a setup for another attack that it lets its guard down for your actual follow up.
Daily * Divine
Free Action - Personal
Trigger: You miss your oath of enmity target with an attack
Target: Your oath of enmity target
Effect: The target grants combat advantage until the end of your next turn.

LEVEL 7 ENCOUNTER PRAYER

Surprise Strike - Avenger Attack 7
Surprise is the seed from which fear grows like a weed.
Encounter * Divine, Weapon
Immediate Interrupt - Melee weapon
Trigger: An enemy adjacent to you starts its turn
Target: The triggering enemy
Attack: Wisdom vs. Reflex
Hit: 1[W] + Wisdom modifier damage.
- Censure of Terror: The attack deals extra damage equal to your Charisma modifier.

LEVEL 9 DAILY PRAYER

Holy Catatonia - Avenger Attack 9
Fear alone can be a powerful weapon, especially when coupled with a coup de grace.
Daily * Divine, Fear, Implement, Psychic
Standard Action - Melee 1
Target: One creature
Attack: Wisdom vs. Will
Hit: The target is unconscious until the end of your next turn.  This effect also ends if the target takes damage.
Miss: 3d6 + Wisdom modifier + 5 psychic damage.

LEVEL 10 UTILITY PRAYER

Always Watching - Avenger Utility 10
Like an older sibling, you watch your enemies and punish them when they make a mistake.
Daily * Divine, Teleportation
Free Action - Close burst 10
Trigger: An enemy within 10 squares of you that you can see misses with an attack or fails a saving throw
Target: The triggering enemy in burst
Effect: Teleport to a square adjacent to the target.  You gain a +2 bonus to attack rolls against the target until the end of your next turn.
